Dr. Lucy Jones specialises in Sexual Health and Genitourinary Medicine.She has worked in the field of Sexual Health in NHS Trusts for 11 years. She is an Associate Specialist in Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital and an Honorary Lecturer at Cardiff University Medical School.
She trained at Oxford University and as well as having a medical degree and specialist qualifications, she also has a Doctorate in Reproductive Medicine. She has specialist qualifications from the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare, and is a member of the British Association of Sexual Health and HIV and the British HIV Association.
At our clinic, Dr Jones leads a team of health professionals. She offers expertise in the assessment and management of a whole range of Sexual Health and Genito-urinary infections and problems e.g. lumps and ulcerations, genital skin conditions, discharge, dyspareunia and other sexual health issues.
She provides prompt and confidential testing for Sexually Transmitted Infections. She also offers specialist family planning advice.
She maintains her professional duties and expertise in accordance with the requirements of these organisations/Royal Colleges. She is Secretary to the Welsh Branch of the British Association of Sexual Health and HIV. She undertakes extensive CPD and has regular appraisals in accordance with the Wales Deanery requirements and revalidation. She is up to date with Good Medical Practice. She is a registered Data Controller and practices to recommended standards. As a lecturer at Cardiff University Medical School, she teaches sexual health to medical students, doctors and allied health professionals. She has a research interest in antibiotic resistance.
She enjoys her speciality and when she is not working likes theatre, sailing and martial arts.
