Chris is an integrative counsellor, which means he is trained with the theoretical knowledge from all three of the traditional approaches in counselling and can provide excellent therapy. He is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). He offers a safe and secure setting, where you will have the opportunity to share and explore the issues that are causing you difficulty in your life, in a non-judgemental free environment. Having the ability to work in a solution focused way, working together, he will be able to tailor an approach to suit your needs. His background is vast, where he has valuable experience from working in mental health. He currently works with the University of South Wales, promoting Mental Wellbeing, and has experience from his work with the mental health charity Mind. He has bereavement training and work with Cruse Bereavement.
Chris’s practice encompasses the code of ethics set forth by the BACP, The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). This is an independent body which is accountable to Parliament, the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care. Types of therapy Chris offers
CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)- Clients are taught ways to change thoughts and expectations, with the use of relaxation techniques; Solution Focused Brief Therapy- this promotes positive change rather than dwelling on past problems. Clients are encouraged to focus positively on what they do well and to set goals and work out how to achieve them. As few as three or four sessions may be beneficial.
